What is the point of a Christian review site that puts its Christianity in the backburner just to be more like non-Christian review sites? There isn’t one, but if you’re willing to lie about God and promote any flavor of satanism to be popular, you are willing to lie about people and censor them. this is the path you go down, beginning with a lie, serving the father of lies is just trying to be “hired” in your chosen occupation.

Fyodor Dostoevsky said this in his Opus “The Brothers Karamazov”:

"A man who lies to himself, and believes his own lies, becomes unable to recognize truth, either in himself or in anyone else, and he ends up losing respect for himself and for others. When he has no respect for anyone, he can no longer love, and in him, he yields to his impulses, indulges in the lowest form of pleasure, and behaves in the end like an animal in satisfying his vices. And it all comes from lying — to others and to yourself."

Dostoevsky could have possibly been referring to himself there and his seedy pass as a prisoner who dedicated himself to God in his darkest moments. But what of it here?  Well, let’s just say you will find this proven in sometimes the most obscure of places.

Christcenteredgamer.com is a less read, lesser easy to navigate, and even less sensical video game review site that came to prominence during the “gamergate” thing.  Since then it has been a place for protestants to go to salve their egos about playing games while claiming that games with even overtly perverse and depraved messaging somehow have “biblical themes.”

On that last word is where I would have posted link to a VERY old babylon bee article that claims Christians can watch any perverse things they want with the excuse of “biblical themes,” specifically in regard to the show “game of thrones.”  Unfortunately, babylon bee has even worse site design than even the one this article is about.  Luckily, there are still some more recent pieces on that same idea.

The site is run by a Cheryl and Jason Gress.  Cheryl is a 42 year old woman and Jason’s entire personality seems to be able to be summed up as “is male and is married to the woman who runs the site.”  It is here then that I would post a very embarrassing picture Cheryl posted six years ago of her wearing an adult-sized bowser pajama costume, but they have recently removed that one blog from the site.

you can still see the article in the search

but clicking on it redirects to this review of a documentary.  Even if you search the archives for the post, you can see a lot of posts from the 2015 era have been replaced in the last year with more “Christian-friendly” things.  Only way to know about the old posts is to have seen them when they were new, and seeing a 36 year old woman in a child’s onesie scarred me for quite some time.

So to put it shortly, this site is quite literally one of those tired “boomer” jokes that babylon bee slams into a wall for a paycheck, just extended somewhere between 15-18 years.  Worse is that I see some of the commenters on right-wing comment sections on a semi-regular basis, and even on those other sites they share the “Christcenteredgamer” trademarked belief system of “I can go to a satanic ritual and still be Christian if I mention Jesus a few times at the end.”

Though that really isn’t a fault of the site, per-se, as that has been a major feature of protestantism from the start.

While it is treated as such, it’s not “abuse” to point out when one is evil or to point out mass hypocrisy.  It is -however- abuse to increasingly lie to make your opponent seem more aggressive than they actually are.  All in order to “justify” tyrannical action against said opponent.  I can make rock-solid, cogent argument, and the people in question will back away screaming as if I am a mugger: all so they can “justify” shooting me like a mugger.

this is protestantism at its most fundamental core; and the worst part is they will claim they do so “for your own good” if ever the grift is found out.  all atheism, satanism, marxism, freemasonry et al, takes this same foundation of “by any means necessary” as all of the above are just one fragment of luther’s rhetoric oeuvre.

the rest is a veneer of gnosticism pretending to be Christian.  This is why people like the Gress’ can “prayerfully” dance themselves to not only satanic media but OPENLY satanic media; even to the point of recommending it.  This is why they call themselves a Christian review site while also purposely ignoring any Christianity to make their site have more of a “wide appeal.”  The saddest thing being that the fanbase and even their religion seem to not only approve of but champion acting like this.

The weirdest irony being that the guest articles on the site do seem directed towards Christians, but any Gress review laps up the perversion or devilry and softly tongues around it.

I won’t go in to specifics about how silly the site acts, as they prove it often enough; ESPECIALLY if you look at their earlier reviews and then post-gamergate-popularity reviews.

But what I will do is post this statement by Venerable Fulton Sheen:

"The fewer sacrifices a man is required to make, the more loath he will be to make those few. His luxuries soon become necessities, children a burden, and the ego a god. Whence will come our heroes in a crisis, if we no longer have heroes in the home? If a man will not put up with the trials of a household, will he put up with the trials of a national emergency? Once the need of sacrifice for maintenance of the home is uprooted, there is simultaneously uprooted the need of sacrifice for the maintenance of a nation. Only a nation that recognizes sweat, toil, hardship, and sacrifice as normal aspects of life can save itself, and these virtues are first learned in the home."

Reminding me of an old Chesterton adage:

"For the real world is not clear or plain. The real world is full of bracing bewilderments and brutal surprises. Comfort is the blessing and the curse of the English, and of Americans of the Pogram type also. With them it is a loud comfort, a wild comfort, a screaming and capering comfort; but comfort at bottom still. For there is but an inch of difference between the cushioned chamber and the padded cell."

But most of all Venerable Fulton Sheen’s description of the coming of the antichrist:

“I believe that the whole political and religious situation of the world can be summed up in terms of the divorce of Christ and His Cross. Put the Cross-less Christ on the right side, and the Christ-less Cross on the left. Who picks up the Crossless Christ? Our decadent Western civilization. This Christ is weak, effeminate, with no authority to drive buyers and sellers out of temples, and never speaks of self-discipline, restraint and mortification.

Who picks up the Christless Cross? Russia and China, where there is a dedication to a common ideology, the use of discipline and authority to keep peace and order. But neither can heal. The, Crossless Christ leaves men burdened with their guilt which festers in a thousand psychosis and neuroses. The Christless Cross cannot save for it ends in Dachau, the Gulag Archipelago and the squeezing of the lives of millions like grapes to make the collective wine of the State.

Which will first find Christ with the Cross? The totalitarian states who have the Cross without Love, or the Western world which has “love” so often erotic-without sacrifice? We do not know. But we do know that at the end of time, when the great battle between the forces of good and evil takes place, Satan will appear without the Cross, as the Great Philanthropist and Social Reformer to become the final temptation of all mankind.”

Individual players like the Gress’ don’t actually matter, but their “movement” does by the harm it seeks to softpedal.
